About the Program

Effective data analysis drives decision making, prevention, response, and community building for today's law enforcement professionals. This Policing Analytics microcredential centers on data-driven policing, providing you with the essential skills needed to successfully find, apply, maintain, evaluate, and communicate data. Common policing strategies where this approach is critical include community policing, problem-oriented policing, risk-based policing and intelligence-led policing.

You will learn about these strategies while refining and strengthening your skills in data analysis, critical thinking, and pattern and trend identification. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study and prepares existing law enforcement professionals to keep pace or advance.

Note that prior study of statistics is required before beginning this microcredential. If you have not already completed an undergraduate or graduate statistics course, please contact the campus to build that into your program.
